The Law of Attraction

So recently, I've been coming across a lot of inspirational, positive energy emanating references- quotes, books, blogs posts, articles, etc.

For fear of sounding trite, I refrained from posting and just added to my Favorites folder.
I know, I know. What a world of cliche's we live in, right?
(We could do without another famous Sex in the City quote?)

Yet, they've all seem to strike a chord with me and I've decided to post away. The purpose of this blog was to record my life and that is just what I plan to do.

To be honest, I was feeling a bit...melancholy the past few weeks/months.
Physically, emotionally blehhh.
I felt confused, future=ambiguous or maybe too clear? and yes I'm 24. Married people I know either met or knew their spouses at this age. STOP! (I've been told and personally believe that I'm at my prime= young but old enough :) I even recall the bestie with the same birthday saying that we're at the age when we can't date for fun. STOP! Trust me, she didn't mean it and oh we will. (I've barely just begun! haha)

But due to a myriad of factors, only some of which I can actually identify, I feel really good.
Yesterday, I was running along the Westside enjoying the wind, the water, the NJ skyline (yeup, its quite beautiful you haters), views of the Empire state building/Statue of Liberty and I realized it. This is it. I thought 2009 was good but 2010 is even better.

After reading this article I realized it's all so simple.

"Acting as if" is about believing in things that don't currently exist and that there may not be much evidence for. This is about living a "faith-based" life, not an "evidence-based life.".... When we choose to live with a strong faith in things not seen, not proven, and not guaranteed - we tap into the power of the possible and we supersede the literal and predicable.
The question for us to ask ourselves is, "What am I acting as if will happen in the most important areas of my life right now?"
We often get exactly what we expect - which is a pretty powerful concept if we take time to let it in and live with that awareness. Instead of waiting to see how things turn out, hoping that they will get better, or simply allowing the circumstances and situations in our lives determine how we feel - what if we acted as if we had everything within us and around us that we need to be successful, happy, and fulfilled already - which we do, by the way!"

And of course, my cheesy sign off which I found to be both encouraging and humbling:

"For what it’s worth: it’s never too late to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.
